Testimonies From GVBIS Students...

From Melissa McClain:

When I was looking into colleges to get my Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Counseling, there were two major things at which I looked. The first was whether the college would hold everything in the KJV as their authority. The second was the cost. I needed something that I could get into without getting a loan. Thankfully, God led me to Genesee Valley Baptist Institute & Seminary. They met the original criteria for which I looked; and their academics covered much more than I expected. Their counseling program is tremendous. Among others, the courses include topics of church, marriage, health, abuse, education, child training, chemical dependencies, and the counselor's own walk with God. I would recommend it to anyone who would like to help themselves and others put to practice the practicalities of using God's Word and principles in their lives.

From Pastor Larry Bednar:
To Dean Krohn and Staff,
Genesee Valley Baptist Institute & Seminary

This is just a word to let you know that I look back with pleasure on my time studying under the auspices of Genesee Valley Baptist Seminary and am pleased to consider this school as my newest Alma Mater. I am a late-comer to the pastoral ministry, having spent much of my life in the engineering profession before receiving the Lord's call to the ministry. The Master of Ministry program at Genesee Valley Baptist Seminary provided me with the additional educational credentials I needed to progress in the ministry. The program also met my needs in helping develop old and new skills in the ever-challenging pastoral ministry.

The staff was always helpful and considerate in assisting me with personal needs related to my program. The low-cost of GVBIS  programs ensures that there is no strain on a pastor's budget. And the allowance of life-experience credits helped significantly in allowing me to gain timely access to my next program of study, the master of Divinity degree. All GVBIS credits in regular courses were readily accepted by the well-known Independent Baptist Seminary in which I am now enrolled. I expect to continue on toward the Doctor of Ministry degree, and Genesee  Valley Baptist Seminary proved to be a most helpful step along the way in fulfillment of my career goals.

From Jessica Ormsby
Dear Administration, 11-2-97

I would like to take this brief opportunity to thank you for the chance you gave me to get my college education while staying under my father's authority. It was, and is, such a blessing to know I am in God's will, being at home with my family, but still receiving a college degree.

Thank you for your steadfastness. It makes me honored to be called a student at GVBIS.

Thanks again!

From Rebekah Grimes "A Home Schooler's Testimony"
As a home school graduate, I knew I wanted to serve God with my life. I was at a loss regarding college decisions because I did not know what the Lord wanted me to do at that time, and did not want to waste time or money on a degree that the Lord might not be willing to use to his Glory in my future. My parents thought that it would be wise if I took a year of Bible classes as I continued to seek the Lord's guidance.

It was a long frustrating search through many correspondence schools, as we found that either the price was good, and the doctrine was wrong, or the doctrine was good, but the school was very expensive. The Lord finally led my parents and I to the Genesee Valley Baptist Institute and Seminary and it has been such a blessing to me as I have continued on the path for God's service.

Not only is the Genesee Valley Baptist Institute based out of a local church, but it holds true to the doctrines found in God's Holy Word. It offers classes that can be held through an institute setting in your own local church or classes that can be done as part of an extension institute through your own home and around your own schedule. Another great benefit is that it is affordable, and that it offers discounts based on work scholarships performed through your local church.

Even though I took the classes through correspondence as part of the extension institute, I still had to write real papers, and take real tests. This really is college, and the Institute is not slack on it's academic requirements in any way shape or form.

I really have enjoyed my time with the Genesee Valley Baptist Institute, and would recommend it to anyone who is searching for a college to attend. You will benefit greatly as you get your training to serve the Lord.
