Southeast Bible Baptist Church, in 1992, saw a need for a school that would provide a place for students to learn academics without also learning the way of the world. When the school started it was very small. As the church grew, the enrollment into the school also grew. Right now the enrollment is near 60 students, which is a good size for a closed enrollment school.
We use curriculum that is Bible based. We teach all things with the remembrance that Christ is the Creator of the universe and is in control of all things.
The atmosphere of SECA is that of Christ-likeness. We encourage students to discourage bad peer pressure. We define Character as “Doing right when no one is watching,” or “Doing right on purpose.” Nearly every opportunity is taken by the teachers of SECA to teach character.
The Staff at SECA is well trained and Spirit-driven to work to the best of their ability. They care about the Students. Teaching not just a job to them; teaching is a ministry. They receive phone calls at all hours of the day to answer questions and to listen to students. A teacher here at SECA doesn’t just lecture students. He strives, sometimes more than the student, to help the student achieve academic excellence. For more information about the School see our FAQ page Or you can contact us. Or you may read the SECA 2007-2008 Handbook.
| | The Nancy Heckert Memorial Scholarship Fund In 2003 The Nancy Heckert Memorial Scholarship Fund was created. Scholarships are awarded to families based upon need and merit. A tuition assistance application form may be obtained from the school. After a careful review of these applications and possible interviews with candidates, the administration will award scholarships based upon need and merit. Sadly, there is only a limited amount of money in The Nancy Heckert Memorial Scholarship Fund. If you or someone you know can contribute, please do! There is an abundance of deserving families who would genuinely appreciate the help. In some cases students can not attend the Christian school without assistance. | HOME SCHOOL UMBRELLA
The Southeast Christian Academy appreciates the work of home school parents. The school does not view home school families as adversaries, but as friends with common goals. It is the school’s privilege to be a resource to home school parents. Among other services and resources, the school is glad to provide home school families with the following opportunities: - Standardized Testing - Diagnostic Testing - Open Classes - Field Trips - Tutoring - Curriculum Ordering and Processing - Graduation and Awards Ceremonies
For financial reasons, the school is forced to charge home school parents a modest fee for some services.
